Gantz (ガンツ, Gantsu?) es un manga de género seinen creado por Hiroya Oku en el año 2000. El manga aún no ha finalizado, aunque sí la Primera Fase de ella con 20 tomos en diciembre de 2006, y además fue adaptada a una serie de anime de 26 episodios.
Combina la acción con la ciencia ficción en el Japón actual, donde un grupo de personas mueren y aparecen en un apartamento con una gran esfera negra llamada Gantz. Acto seguido la bola les indicará que efectivamente han muerto. Allí serán obligados a cumplir las órdenes de la bola en una macabra competencia donde el premio es la salvación de sus vidas. Por su alto contenido sangriento y con escenas de fuerte contenido sexual, esta serie fue censurada en varios países del mundo.

Argumento

Kei Kurono es un estudiante rebelde que no le presta mucha importancia a su alrededor. Estando en el metro, se percata que un mendigo en estado de ebriedad se cae en los rieles, pero no va en su ayuda. En cambio, Masaru Katō, un amigo de la infancia de Kei, decide hacerlo. Masaru reconoce a Kei, tras años de no haberse visto, y Kei no tiene otra opción que también ir para ayudarlo. Cuando logran salvar al mendigo, se dan cuenta que se acerca un tren sin saber que era un expreso y son atropellados. Instantes después, se encuentran los dos en una habitación, con una esfera negra llamada Gantz, en la que les informa que "sus vidas son controladas por él y tienen que asesinar a seres alienígenas para poder seguir viviendo.

Kei Kurono (玄野計, Kei Kurono?)
Seiyū: Daisuke Namikawa
Estudiante atropellado junto con su amigo de infancia Masaru por el metro al intentar salvar a un mendigo. Es el personaje central , y poco a poco irá descubriendo los secretos que encierra Gantz. Al comienzo, él se muestra como un personaje egoísta, meticuloso, cobarde, pervertido y que desprecia a todo el mundo; pero en su estancia en la habitación de Gantz, Kurono cambia su forma de ser, siendo más simpático y preocupado por la gente.
Masaru Katou (加藤勝, Masaru Katou?)
Seiyū: Masashi Oosato
Amigo de infancia de Kei. Siempre intenta ayudar a los más débiles. Al igual que Kei, aparece en la habitación de Gantz después de ser atropellado en el metro. Vive con su hermano menor Ayumu con una tía y sus dos primos, ya que él y su hermano quedaron huérfanos; pero debido a la forma en que su tía los trataba, decide vivir con su hermano en otro departamento para ellos dos.
Kei Kishimoto (岸本恵, Kei Kishimoto?)
Seiyū: Hitomi Nabatame
Esta chica llega a la habitación desnuda tras intentar suicidarse en su bañera. Allí conocerá a Masaru y a Kei, éste último se enamora de ella, formando así un triángulo amoroso que dará pie a varias situaciones de humor y drama.

Realidad virtual

recomendacion en DVD - Ichi the killer

Ichi the Killer (también conocido como Koroshiya Ichi o Koroshiya １) es un controvertido filme dirigido por el director japonés Takashi Miike en 2001, adaptado del manga de Hideo Yamamoto.

Argumento
El protagonista de la película es Tadanobu Asano en el papel de Kakihara, un sádico y masoquista yakuza que disfruta provocando y sintiendo dolor en igual medida. Además su boca está ensanchada por ambos lados y sus mejillas unidas a través de piercings. Anjo, el jefe de Kakihara desaparece una noche después de ser asesinado de manera grotesca. Un misterioso grupo se encarga de limpiar todas las evidencias del asesinato de Anjo y roba los 300 millones de yenes que éste tenía en su habitación.
Muchos de los compañeros de la banda de Kakihara, incluida Karen, la novia de Anjo, sospechan que éste simplemente tomó el dinero y se escapó pero Kakihara esta convencido de que su jefe permanece con vida y nunca escaparía. Su investigación le lleva a torturar brutalmente a un miembro del clan rival, Suzuki (Susumu Terajima), colgándolo del techo mediante ganchos metálicos que le atraviesan la piel de la espalda y clavándole agujas por todo el cuerpo, además lo baña con aceite caliente en el cual preparaba tempura.

Tambien existe una ova en animasion muy recomendable (pongo la portada tambien)
